Photo Friday 2017 ~ Week 26 ~

The library is one of our favorite places.  Actually it's one of my favorite places and one of my girl's favorite places.  My boy is not so much of a fan, but that's okay.  I'm sure it's building character every time I drag him someplace he doesn't want to go, right?  I do kinda feel bad though now that I think about it because this week I also dragged him to the mall with his sister and some friends of ours who just have girls.  He was very patient with our shopping though and I did take him to the Lego store at the end.  It's good practice for when he's married.  :)

This morning we headed to the library and I grabbed my camera on the way out the door thinking I might want to snap some shots for Photo Friday.  I am so back in the groove now!  I needed to talk to the librarian about a book that they said we had water damaged so we went to the Safety Harbor library which isn't one we usually go to.  I got it all straightened out and my fine was erased (yay!) while my girl browsed the teen section and my boy sat in a chair looking bored.  No pics of him today.  We did find out that they have a great selection of DVD's so we got a bunch so we can veg out and watch movies on some of these hot summer afternoons when we don't want to go outside.  After my girl selected her books we walked over to the more deserted adult section for some quick photos.  It was so fun and she was in a great mood because she was at one of her favorite places.  Here are my favorites!

Photo Friday 2017 ~ Week 25 ~

This week was packed with fun things starting with going to the free movie at the Regal.  My kids are really too old for a lot of the movies they play, but I went through all the lists the other day and I think I wrote down 3 different ones on my calendar out of the three different theaters near us.  I went on a free things to do kick the other day and found a ton of stuff that is cheap to do this summer, so hopefully we will get to do a bunch of it.  My girl had a sleepover with a friend two different days, and we did a beach day with friends at Honeymoon Island where the waves were huge and we got Publix subs and a seagull stole a chip right out of my hand.  We headed to my mom's house one day as a family and we got to enjoy her pool.  My girl and I got to go on a bike ride to the candy shop and have a little girl time that day too.  I am finally getting into the swing of Photo Friday (only took me half the year!) and I brought my camera that day to get some pics.  Here are my favorites!

At the candy store perusing the options.

This girl has totally got the teenager scowl down...but I much prefer her sweet smile!

We rode our bikes to the park with her candy and soda where we enjoyed a lovely chat, took a bunch of selfies together, and I told her she looked like a Fanta ad so she played along.

Before we moved to Florida I don't think I'd ever seen frangipani before, but now they are my favorite flower.  My mom has a tree (bush?) in her yard and it had never bloomed before until this summer.  Now every time we go there are more gorgeous flowers.  Usually they are white with yellow centers but I like these pink ones too.

My girl and her daddy.  They love it when he gets in the pool with them and plays all kinds of crazy games and I lay on my float and try not to get splashed. :)

Have a great week!

Photo Friday 2017 ~ Weeks 23 & 24

It's summer and that means lots of lazy days around here which is exactly what I love about summer! I think the older my kids get the less lazy days there are.  I had a moment the other day while driving kids to and from their friends' houses and activities where I seriously felt like a taxi.  I don't think I've experienced it to that extent yet and it's like I had a flash of what my future will be like for the next few years, so I'm trying to embrace the lazy days when they come.

It's the rainy season in Florida now, so the other day my boy decided to go play in the rain.  When it rains hard a little creek forms in our parking lot and flows down to a drain so he loves to play out there and stomp around in the puddles.  We found an old poncho that is so funny looking, it's like a coat.  It kept him dry though and he wore his sister's old purple boots.  I actually went outside and took photos for this post and I was pretty proud of myself for remembering!

The other day my girl built this epic fort in her room and it was huge and she had her fairy lights strung up in it and it was just magical.  She invited her little bro to sleepover in it since it encompassed her bed and was big enough to fit the air mattress too.  I love that she still has her moments of sweetness towards him because he just adores her so much.  The sweet moments are fewer and farther between but they are learning a new way of friendship now that they are older and while I know that their friendship will change as they age, I can tell that they will be lifelong friends just like my brother and I.  It is a comforting thought for this momma.

My dancer had another dance showcase for her ballroom class and it was so good!  There is a boy in her class now which I think is great since she can actually practice her dances with him instead of always having to take turns leading with the other girls.  She is getting really good at the dances.  They had some open dancing at the end of the night some of the other students from the other classes (all of them are older men and ladies and they are so sweet to the teens) asked her to dance and she caught on so quick and knew all the steps.  I'm so proud of her!

That's all for this week!

Photo Friday 2017 ~ Weeks 20, 21, & 22

We had a great time in Ohio meeting my new nephew and catching up with family and friends.  I did a bunch of photo shoots while I was there and it went so fast because it felt like we were scheduled every second of the day.  It got confusing keeping track of where to take each kid and where I needed to be so that everyone got to see all the friends that they wanted to, but we got it all in and it was fun! My nephew is adorable and my nieces are growing up way too fast.  I sometimes wish we lived closer.  Actually I just wish they all lived closer to us because I am never leaving Florida.  ;)

Since we've been back we've just been trying to enjoy summer while I finish editing all the photos I took.  We've had a few beach days and a morning at the pool and my girl has already had a sleepover with friends.  It's looking like it's gonna be a great summer but I already know it's going to go by in a blink!

This morning we had nothing planned for the day and I saw on Facebook that it is National Donut Day so we decided to drive to Krispy Kreme for free donuts.  It's like a 20 minute drive, but nothing says summer to me like wasting time on something totally impractical and unplanned, but totally fun!

Here are a couple photos I took today and some of the cute photos I got of my nieces and nephew last week.
